Role description
We are looking for a creative, talented, and passionate actuarial professional to be part of our purpose to meet customer needs and help Canada Life be a long-term market-leader in the individual insurance market.
The National Director, Actuarial Marketing Services, provides technical education and support to stakeholders (e.g. advisors, wholesalers, management) through formal presentations/field visits, as well as one-on-one calls & inquiries. Working collaboratively with other internal teams, this role also provides actuarial input and leadership in the creation of external (advisor/wholesaler) insurance marketing material, with the goal to ultimately support and grow our broad insurance sales.
What you will do
- Develop a deep understanding of Canada Life’s Par and Non-Par products and the Canadian competitive landscape
- Provide actuarial and product expertise to advisors and wholesalers
- Develop and deliver educational presentations regarding products or other technical topics at advisor and industry meetings
- Answer technical product questions from the client or their advisors
- Provide thought leadership/input on how we promote our commercial proposition in the marketplace, in collaboration with Product Support and Sales Strategies
- Provide field insights to internal teams (including Product Innovation & Solutions), to ensure that products are market competitive and meet the needs of our clients
- Develop strong relationships with various teams across Insurance Solutions (e.g. Insurance Distribution, Par In force Management, Insurance Solutions & Experience, etc.)
What you will bring
- FSA, FCIA designation
- 5+ years of foundational insurance experience, with specialized knowledge of various insurance products
- Exceptional communication skills, with a strong ability to translate complex technical topics into understandable solutions to non-technical audiences
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs, to identify business opportunities that create a competitive advantage
- Ability to be a thought-leader
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships across Insurance Solutions, Distribution and the broader organization
- Ability to speak French or Mandarin is an asset
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Montreal, Toronto, London, Winnipeg.

The base salary for this position is between $92,100 - $170,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
