The Manager Data Strategy & Enablement role will report to the Director, Strategic Data within Canada Finance, and will be is a key contributor to advancing Canada Finance’s data and analytics objectives. This role supports the delivery of our projects by enabling trusted, high-quality data and insights that help our partners make informed decisions. The Manager Data Strategy & Enablement plays an important role in improving how we work through automation and simplification, ensuring strong data integrity and controls, and partnering effectively across Business, Technology, and Data Governance to deliver results with excellence. Through the use of modern data platforms, tools, and practices, this role helps make data more accessible, reliable, and actionable in support of Canada Finance priorities.
What you will do:
- Manage and support the Data Envelope portfolio of projects, with accountability for overall planning, prioritization, and delivery tracking across initiatives
- Own end-to-end planning, reporting, and portfolio-level oversight for Data Envelope and related strategic data projects, including status reporting, risk/issues management, and executive-ready updates
- Lead and facilitate working groups and Centers of Excellence (CoE), driving alignment, and consistent communication across stakeholders
- Own and lead communications related to data enablement initiatives, including updates to leadership, working teams, and partner areas
- Lead and support special projects as assigned, often cross-functional in nature, requiring coordination across business, technology, and governance teams
- Build strong and trusted relationships with partners across the data organization
- Accelerate the creation of new data products and expedite adoption of data solutions across various reporting teams in Canada Life
- Support data protection activities, including initiatives related to data retention and disposition, and ongoing alignment with data protection requirements
- Lead and support data protection and data segregation activities, such as assisting with training, managing exceptions, and supporting remediation or audit-related actions as required
- Translate complex data reporting needs into clear, actionable business terms for executive audiences
- Expedite issue resolution, negotiating and influencing people at all levels to ensure blockers are resolved in a timely manner
What you will bring:
- Experience leading or supporting complex initiatives, programs, or projects, with a strong ability to understand business needs, structure problems, and develop practical solutions; prior data or technology experience is an asset but not required
- Strong ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise messages and connect the dots between business objectives, data, and outcomes
- High level of comfort presenting to senior leaders, including preparing and delivering clear, well‑structured updates, recommendations, and decision‑ready materials
- Excellent collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to engage and clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
- Attention to detail, ability to analyze and evaluate information and support decision making
- Demonstrated experience partnering with cross‑functional teams and building strong, trusted relationships
- Customer‑service-oriented mindset, with a focus on enabling partners and improving how work gets done. Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Teams, SharePoint, Power Point, Forms, Power BI) and digital communication and learning tools
- Passion for problem solving and identifying creative solutions when faced with challenges or ambiguity
- Flexible and adaptable with strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: London or Toronto.

The base salary for this position is between $102,000 - $152,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
