Manager, Corporate Security

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Security and the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Manager, Corporate Security handles the promotion, oversight, and assessment of Corporation-wide physical security risk management. This role supports and contributes to the development of the Enterprise Security Risk Management program and corporation-wide framework in Canada and globally. 

 

What you will do  

  • Provide expertise and act as a Subject Matter Expert with respect to physical security risk for the corporation. 

  • Strengthen and maintain cross-functional relationships with Business Continuity Management and Emergency Response leadership, Great-West Life Realty Advisors (GWLRA) Operations and Security, and external law enforcement and emergency personnel. 

  • Develop and implement security programs and procedures in alignment with the global Corporate Security Mandate. 

  • Promote security awareness across the organization and deliver security presentations to management and staff. 

  • Leading the implementation of Corporate Security policies, programs, and procedures. 

  • Providing guidance and direction on physical security compliance requirements and risk mitigation strategies. 

  • Conduct and lead investigations of serious and complex security incidents impacting one or more organizational assets individually or as part of a broader multi-disciplinary investigative team. 

  • Initiate incident response measures as part of a Threat Assessment and Emergency Response Team. 

  • Establish and conduct regular physical security surveys of the organization’s key properties in conjunction with business area leaders and security consultants. 

What you will bring  

  • University or college level education in the field of Protection, Security, and Investigation 

  • 10+ years of experience in the field of physical security management 

  • Understanding of access control, intrusion detection, CCTV and incident management, and reporting systems and tools such as Resolver. 

  • 8+ years of experience participating in or leading the response to incidents, emergencies and/or crises in large, complex organizations. 

  • 8+ years experience in developing incident, emergency or crisis management plans and processes. 

  • Successful completion of Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP) 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role within the field of physical security management. 

  • Advanced knowledge of physical security principles and the criminal justice system 

  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills 

  • Strong planning and organization 

  • Strong business knowledge 

  • Excellent investigative skills 

  • Advanced interpersonal skills

The base salary for this position is between  $84,900.00 - $155,700.00 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
