Manager, Compliance
Interested in adding to your compliance experience for both Individual Wealth and Canada Life subsidiaries? We are looking for a Manager, Compliance for Canada Life Investment Management Ltd. (CLIML) within the Wealth Solutions team.
The Manager, Compliance is responsible for managing key elements of compliance programs for both CLIML and Wealth Solutions, as well as driving and maintaining compliance processes and deliverables for CLIML. CLIML is registered as an investment fund manager, portfolio manager and commodity trading manager. Its primary regulator is the Ontario Securities Commission. CLIML is the manager of the Canada Life Mutual Funds and Counsel Portfolios.
What you will do:
- Manage and maintain the key elements of the Wealth Solutions Privacy Program.
- Manage the annual control testing plan for CLIML key processes.
- Liaise with Internal Audit, oversight functions, and our Wealth 1B team as needed for planned and ad hoc engagements, risk assessment, and risk management activities.
- Manage the day-to-day marketing & sales communication review processes, completing reviews for compliance to regulatory requirements and our Marketing Guidelines documentation within service standards.
- Prepare supporting materials for Wealth Solutions leadership, including a summary of breaches, identification of key risks, and key regulation updates.
- Assist in the development of procedure and control documentation as part of CLIML’s Regulatory Compliance Framework.
- Remain up to date with regulatory environment and upcoming changes to ensure that policies and procedures are kept current.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of compliance experience working in at least one of the following is preferred: IFM, investment dealer, mutual funds, control testing programs, privacy, Canada Life subsidiaries, segregated funds.
- Must have strong attention to detail, possess a high degree of analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of prioritizing competing tasks to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Highly motivated and results driven.
- University degree in a related field.
- CPA or CFA designation is an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial privacy laws is an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the following National Instrument (NI) securities regulations is an asset: NI 31-103, NI 81-101, NI 81-102, NI 81-105, and NI 81-106. This includes a high degree of familiarity with investment fund rules, prospectus documents, and monitoring fund compliance.
- Ability to understand and successfully navigate a matrixed organization.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels.

The base salary for this position is between $96,200 - $146,200 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
