We are looking for a Manager, Business Continuity, to join the team.
Role Overview:
The Manager of Business Continuity is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Canada Life's Technology Business Continuity program. You will ensure the company is prepared to respond to, recover from, and resume operations following any significant business disruption. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, cross-departmental collaboration, and hands-on crisis management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program Strategy: Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide BC framework, ensuring alignment with industry standards (ISO 22301).
• Risk Assessment: Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and Threat Risk Assessments (TRA) to identify critical functions and potential vulnerabilities.
• Plan Development: Oversee the creation and updating of departmental recovery plans, ensuring they are actionable and integrated.
• Testing & Exercises: Design and lead tabletop exercises, functional drills, and full-scale recovery simulations to validate plan effectiveness.
• Awareness & Training: Champion a culture of resiliency through staff training and awareness programs across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, or a related field (Required).
• Experience: 5–8 years of direct experience in Business Continuity
• Certification: CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), MBCI, or equivalent certification (Highly Preferred).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in BCM software tools and a strong understanding of IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) dependencies.
Core Competencies:
• Resilience: Ability to remain calm and decisive under high-pressure situations.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical risks into clear business language for executive leadership.
• Project Management: Proven track record of managing multiple timelines and stakeholders simultaneously.

The base salary for this position is between $102,000- $152,000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
