The Performance Management team is a critical function within Canada Life, helping leaders make informed decisions through data, insights, strategic analysis, and performance measurement. We partner across the organization to identify growth opportunities, improve customer and advisor experiences, and ensure the business is prepared for evolving market, regulatory, technology, and customer trends.

This role will work directly with senior leaders and executives on some of Canada Life's most visible strategic priorities.

Unlike traditional reporting or analytics teams, we operate at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and execution. We don't just identify opportunities. We design solutions, build prototypes, test ideas in real-world environments, and measure outcomes. Our work directly influences business decisions, transformation initiatives, and enterprise strategy.

As AI becomes increasingly central to Canada Life's future, we are seeking someone who can transform strategic questions into working AI solutions. This individual will help build the team's AI capabilities through LLM-based agents, AI workflows, and rapid experimentation that improves how decisions are made across the business.

You will work closely with business leaders, technology partners, and vendors to identify opportunities, build pilots, and validate measurable business value.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with senior leaders to reimagine customer, advisor, and employee experiences using AI and advanced analytics
  • Apply first-principles thinking to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and transformation
  • Rapidly move ideas from concept to prototype to real-world validation, using pilots to test strategic hypotheses before larger investments are made
  • Design, build, and evaluate LLM-based agents, AI workflows, and automation solutions that improve productivity and decision-making while incorporating appropriate governance and human oversight
  • Prototype solutions within real business constraints, including data availability, regulations, operational processes, and user adoption considerations
  • Develop repeatable frameworks, standards, and reusable assets that can be leveraged across Canada Life
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute high-value AI use cases that improve business performance and productivity
  • Translate business challenges and executive questions into practical AI solutions with measurable outcomes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business, technology, data, risk, and compliance functions to assess feasibility, drive adoption, and scale successful solutions

What You Will Bring

  • 2+ years of experience building and deploying AI or machine learning solutions, including experience with LLMs, intelligent agents, RAG, workflow automation, or related technologies
  • Experience translating business problems into end-to-end AI-enabled solutions and working prototypes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect strategic objectives to measurable business outcomes
  • Experience with AI development platforms and frameworks such as Azure AI, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar technologies
  • A builder's mindset, with a passion for experimentation, continuous learning, and challenging the status quo
  • Experience working in financial services, insurance, or other regulated environments is an asset
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to balance innovation with practical execution and measurable value creation
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in data, analytics, automation, digital transformation, or strategy-related functions is considered a strong asset
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life
