As the organization looks to advance our Business Risk & Control function, we are seeking a Governance and Controls Advisor. Reporting to the Director, Risk Governance & Controls, you will play a critical role in supporting the supporting the design, documentation and assessment of the effectiveness of operational risk controls. This role will ensure the Individual Wealth business unit and subsidiaries effectively identify, assess, manage and report on operational and conduct risks while maintaining a strong control environment.
What you will do
- Support the identification, assessment and monitoring of internal controls to provide a single view of controls for the Individual Wealth business unit
- Maintain a library of key operational controls
- Perform testing of key operational controls across the business
- Assist in updating risk and control assessments (“RCAs”) based on key control testing results and internal control failures
- Analyze control testing results and identify trends and share insights
- Leverage tools, methodology and testing framework developed by the Central Business Risk & Controls Team
- Assist with coordinating the development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and for monitoring/managing the closing of any gaps
- Support the quality, accuracy and completeness of BCP plans by coordinating plan reviews, tests/exercises and annual compliance sign-offs
- Support quarterly risk reporting
What you will bring
- Post-secondary education or equivalent level of training or experience
- 3+ years of experience in a financial services industry role with operational risk and controls related responsibilities
- Experience executing testing methodology
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft products (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI) is an asset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills

The base salary for this position is between $52,800 - $97,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
