Director Insurance Business Strategy

Reporting to the AVP, Insurance Sales Enablement, the Director Business Insurance Strategy focus will enable us to grow our capacity to proactively leverage market insights by completing proactive reviews and integrating insurance industry intelligence within our strategic planning processes.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Develop a detailed insurance product strategy blueprint identifying our short term and long-term product needs.
  • Frequent presentations to senior distribution and insurance executives to share findings, growth opportunities and influence adherence to the needs outlined in the blueprint.
  • Analyze current sales positioning while forecasting long term growth opportunities using expected results with recommendations for growing sales.
  • Identify gaps in sales enablement tools and materials and work with multiple teams’ leadership to prioritize and build missing pieces.
  • Curate a quarterly Insurance Distribution story to be shared with distribution and insurance leadership to create consistent speaking points on Canada Life strengths and position.
  • Working with internal leadership and external distribution executives, establish an advisor coalition group to capture our field perspective on advisor experience, compensation, and general product competitiveness.
  • Interpret existing data and collect new data to gain an expert understanding of the insurance landscape.
  • Develop a steering group made up of cross functional executives to proactively address and solve competitive gaps.

 

What you will bring:

 

  • Minimum of 10 years of insurance experience, with a deep understanding of insurance industry trends and products.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • CFP or similar industry designation would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to influence while fostering collaborative relationships across the organization.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for strategic, analytical, and critical thinking while working with a high degree of autonomy.

The base salary for this position is between  $89,800 - $166,300 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
