We are looking for a Director, Programs and Project Delivery. 

 

Our Business Project Management Office is seeking a Director, Programs and Project Delivery to join our team. This role reports directly to the Assistant Vice President, Business Delivery and plays a critical role in enabling strategic execution across our portfolio of initiatives. 

 

Working closely with our Technology organization— the Director will be a strategic partner in driving innovation and delivering secure, resilient, and forward-thinking solutions—you will be responsible for overseeing the governance and performance of all projects within the portfolio. This includes leading intake and prioritization processes, developing and maintaining product roadmaps, and driving product adoption across the business. 

 

You will provide leadership and oversight across all phases of our program methodologies, ensuring compliance, quality, and alignment with governance standards. Your work will help ensure that our delivery practices support business outcomes and contribute to the well-being of millions of Canadians. 

 

What you will do 

  • Lead strategic execution across a portfolio of business initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. 

  • Oversee project governance and performance, including compliance with methodologies, quality standards, and governance frameworks. 

  • Provides detailed spend/expense data for the purpose of tracking, prioritization, and decisions making. 

  • Manage intake and prioritization processes for new initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and high-impact projects are prioritized. 

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business needs. 

  • Drive product adoption across the organization by engaging stakeholders, promoting change management, and ensuring solutions are embraced and utilized. 

  • Partner closely with the Digital Technology team to deliver secure, resilient, and innovative solutions that support business transformation. 

  • Provide leadership across all phases of program delivery, from planning through execution, ensuring outcomes contribute to the well-being of Canadians. 

  • Provides direction in support of annual Planning  

  • Partners with other Portfolio Management Teams and business units to ensure there is a collaborative, integrated planning process and data availability.  

  • Provides People Management to the Programs and Project Delivery team 

 

What you will bring 

  • 10+ years digital product management experience ideally across multiple industries such as retail, manufacturing, financial services, etc.  

  • 5+ years people leadership experience  

  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to a complex, matrix organization and adopt organizational methodologies and processes for effective project delivery, with strong attention to detail  

  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information and render effective decisions  

  • Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion  

  • Experience making decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements  

  • Ability to adapt to a complex, multi site, matrix organization and adopt organizational methodologies and processes  

  • Strong facilitation skills (excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to drive consensus and action plans)  

  • Excellent problem-solving skills including an ability to adapt quickly to changes and adjust priorities accordingly  

  • Solid understanding of software delivery life cycle and agile delivery framework. Solid understanding of project management and methodology including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, generate detailed timelines and project schedules and manage budgets  

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Word and project planning  

  • Ability to work directly with senior executives including demonstrated ability to manage expectations, escalate program/project issues and propose solutions 

  • Ability to tell a simple story to senior executives that are backed by data and analytics  

  • Awareness of emerging technology trends  

  • Willingness to try new things and an appetite for continuous learning  

  • Travel required (10-15%)

The base salary for this position is between  $92,100 - $170,500 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
