We are looking for a Director, Product Owner as part of the Business Modernization, Canada, Digital Experience Team to enable Canada Life’s Wealth ambition.

 

 The Digital Experience Product Owner is responsible for leading the digital wealth-related experiences and roadmap. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders and technology partners to deliver exceptional digital experiences for advisors and customers. The Product Owner will ensure that the product vision aligns with corporate strategy and that the product team has the necessary tools and support to succeed.

 

What you will do:

  • Develop and drive the product vision, roadmap and delivery plans for Integrated Wealth Experience that continuously deliver maximum value for Advisors and Customers.
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners and leaders to ensure the roadmap fits into the overall strategic product vision and enable reuseable One Canada Life experience features and capabilities.
  • Set business and product goals and communicate them with business stakeholders, technology partners and support the team with delivery related activities (events, testing, backlog order, demos).
  • Ensure customer-driven design by considering user pain points and usability test results.
  • Build and continuously evolve the backlog of product features, sustainable tasks, maintenance activities clearly documented and prioritized.
  • Work with the Advisory Network and Marketing teams to ensure successful product rollout and support readiness.
  • Provide continuous feedback to the team and help them follow the product vision.
  • Collaborate with technology partners on ideal solutions to maximize product value and staffing model.
  • Support the AVP, Digital Product Experience in creating and supporting the business case process, including reporting on KPIs, funding, and strategic fit.

  • Strong sense of urgency to execute to meet market demands due to the changing regulatory landscape. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to lead the team to push the solution and quickly structure and break down problems.
  • Digital native, comfortable conversing with technology partners in large enterprise context. Ability to think about advisor and customer experiences across a mix of build/buy/rent options.
  • Strategic thinker and compelling leader with a strong vision.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex messages and trade-offs to tell a compelling story.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders and make tough decisions based on business impact.
  • Strong coaching skills with experience in coaching teams with various profiles.
  • Belief in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile and the ability to dynamically tailor the approach to the situation.
  • Experience in Agile Development, with a strong delivery mindset, specific Product Owner (or similar) experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of relevant wealth domains/products/journeys and solid knowledge of industry trends and can balance with ever changing user demands.
  • Comfortable with technology/IT to enable engagement and discussion with the tech team to understand risks.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to translate client needs into a plan that can ties to quantifiable KPIs that will support future business growth.
  • Structured and analytical planning approach; works with various stakeholders to establish and drive priorities.

The base salary for this position is between  $92,100.00 - $170,500.00 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
