  • Participate in post-event reviews and help translate lessons learned into stronger controls, procedures, training and governance.
  • Translate regulatory and policy expectations into practical first-line business practices and support regulatory requests, reviews, audits and assurance activities.
  • Provide senior fraud risk advice to business and Business Risk and Controls executives while promoting a culture in which fraud prevention is part of everyday business decisions.

What you will bring:

  • Experience leading governance, controls, issue management, risk reporting and senior stakeholder engagement in a regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fraud methods, scams, prevention and detection controls, authentication, transaction monitoring, investigations, recoveries and customer impacts.
  • Experience using data, intelligence, customer impacts and control results to identify emerging risks and priorities.
  • The ability to turn risk expectations into practical governance, controls, remediation plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Sound judgement in uncertain situations, with the ability to escalate material concerns promptly and make complex issues clear for decision-makers.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and leading cross-functional work where outcomes depend on collaboration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing concise reports, recommendations and governance materials for senior leaders.
  • An understanding of Canadian financial services operations and relevant customer protection, privacy, financial crime and operational risk expectations.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, risk management, finance, criminology, law, computer science, data analytics or a related field.
  • Financial services experience involving payments, digital banking, cards, deposits, lending, onboarding, contact centres or customer channels; an asset.
