Director, Compliance Governance & Reporting

A key part of the Corporate Compliance team, this role will have the primary accountability for the Compliance reporting and governance functions. The role will work cross-functionally across the 3 lines of defence, to manage the planning and execution of work to continuously improve and deliver all reporting deliverables including quarterly reporting to senior management and the Board. This role will also drive the development, evolution, and maintenance of Compliance governance.

What you will do

  • Manage and evolve the governance of Compliance within the organization through the development of strategies; and development, maintenance and updating of policies and guidelines, tools, and processes.

  • Ensure alignment with obligations under E-13 and other applicable regulatory requirements. Develop and monitor the maturity and embeddedness of assigned Compliance Framework elements, including the continuous improvement of the program in alignment with strategic business objectives and evolving industry standards. 

  • Define Canadian Compliance Framework elements to align with Global methodology, CCCO Mandate and E-13 obligations (and Global maturity model as applicable)

  • Prepare and finalize quarterly Compliance Officer reporting. Ownership and management of quarterly reporting processes and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement. Review business and program reports and analysis for quality and completeness, ensuring that the analysis is insightful, impactful, and includes clear calls to action.

  • Assist in the annual review of the Compliance Mandate, including a review of the maturity model of the Compliance function, and provide support and guidance for significant enterprise and divisional risk disclosures.

  • Build and maintain positive, effective working relationships. Provide leadership or consultation for cross-divisional initiatives. Negotiate effective compliance solutions with stakeholders with competing priorities. Engage others, support, and implement changes to enhance programs.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • A desire to execute for results by focusing on what matters and delivering superior results to stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship builder who seeks out and build relationships with others who can provide information, intelligence, support and other ways to help drive best business practices with inclusivity.

  • Effective communication skills with a consistent, direct and positive approach to keeping initiatives and strategies on track and stakeholders engaged. Ability to synthesize large amounts of information to be meaningful and relevant to the intended audience.

  • Proactively seeks improvement opportunities and solutions.

  • University Degree in a relevant field

  • Relevant designations/certifications/licenses are an asset but not mandatory.

The base salary for this position is between  $89,800- $166,300 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
