We are looking for a Director, Audit and Issues Management.
The Director, Audit and Issues Management reporting to the VP, Technology Risk Governance & Control will be responsible for overseeing the audit functions for Line 1B, leading issue resolution and supporting issue identification and treatment.
This role will ensure robust audit processes and compliance & risk management practices are in place across the Canada Technology organization. Working closely with key stakeholders across all 3 lines of defence, this role will drive effective audit and issues management strategies, enhance risk and control maturity, and contribute to safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the organization.
What you will do

Contribute to the development and evolution of Canada Life’s Audit Strategy, ensuring it aligns with company goals and industry best practices

Oversee and support the planning, execution, and reporting of audits, ensuring that they are performed efficiency and effectively

Collaborate with senior leadership, reviewing audit findings, ensuring timely and effective risk treatment is taken

Act as the key point of contact for all Audit related matters across Canada Technology

Contribute to the development and evolution of Canada Life’s technology issues management processes

Lead the intake and validation of issues in our central repository, ensuring all issues adhere to process, including assurance and responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of issues

Collaborate with internal and external sources to gather relevant information and assess the impact of identified issues

Perform root cause analysis and assess for thematic/systemic causes

Coordinate and advise on the development and review of actions plans

Monitor & track timely completion of action plans and provide reporting to key stakeholders
What you will bring
-
7+ years of experience in a similar technology risk leadership position
-
5-10 years of experience in the financial services / insurance industry (or other regulated industry)
-
8-10 years of progressive experience within the areas of Technology Risk Management including Information Cyber, Technology Delivery and Technology Operations

3-5 years of experience in operational risk management
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Auditing Information Technology Systems, Engineering, Business Technology or equivalent experience

Strong Understanding of Regulatory requirements (e.g., OSFI, Privacy, etc.), and industry best practice (COBIT, NIST, ISO, SOC 2 TSC, etc.)

Previous IT Audit experience is an asset

Proven ability to identify, analyze and translate risk in the context of what it means to achieving business objectives

Demonstrated capability to build and foster strong relationships through collaboration, influencing change, and building consensus

Constant learner and passion for technology and risk governance

Deep understanding of how large enterprise organizations work, within a regulated environment

The base salary for this position is between $92,100- $170,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
