We are looking for a Consulting Specialist, Customer Identity Access Management.

We are building innovative and modern solutions to support the requirements of Identity and Access management though various programs The programs are responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and standardizing processes and technologies across Canada Life, offering direct support to Canada Life Applications serving Canada Life customers and to support Canada life in the journey of modernizing the consumer IAM Technology and process.

 

What you’ll do:

 

The Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Consulting Specialist will work closely with the Director of CIAM, and other members of the team to provide Solutions Expertise and act as Subject Matter Expert to support the teams in terms of architecture, technical solutioning (design, build, test, deploy and support), provide expertise on complex technical challenges and solutions, guide the team to solve problems, work with leaders and other technology teams to help achieve program milestones. The candidate will also be involved to provide inputs in the ongoing journey in defining and implementing the technical solutions, roadmap, enhancement of product services, architecture alignment, and adapt modern industry trends to sustain the CIAM services to support Canada Life needs. The ideal candidate will be required to have the below requirements to support the CIAM program:

 

  • Leads and facilitates the design and implementation of repeatable technical solutions and processes related to architecture.
  • Acts as the prime CIAM technology solution subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders. Provides architectural expertise and domain knowledge to advise and guide senior leaders.
  • Defines and documents efficient and transparent architectural principles, standards, and guidelines regarding the proper use and deployment of solutions within Canada Life CIAM platform.
  • Partners with broader internal stakeholders to define solution architectural possibilities and futures. Works with internal stakeholders to provide architectural recommendations and guidance and departmental presentations.
  • Works with internal and external teams to provide sound solutions for the CIAM program, Works with the development team to deliver timely and advanced mechanism of technical implementation
  • Creates, supports, and manages key architecture assets (e.g. solution architecture) for the designated portfolio and business scope.
  • Ensures sound and robust architecture (Solution design, integration patterns, robust product/service architecture, etc.) and provides sufficient guidance for the successful implementation of solutions to mitigate negative enterprise technology and budget impacts.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise in integrating legacy apps with modern CIAM solutions and components
  • Identifies risks or issues with technology solution and design that may impact realization of project benefits and guides and supports stakeholders in making good decisions that proactively resolve or mitigate potential project risks/delays.
  • Participates in the system specification review process to ensure system requirements can be translated into valid software architecture.
  • Performs proofs of concept / prototypes as applicable and recommends on future roadmaps.
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Identifies opportunities to strengthen the capability of the technology organization (e.g., sharing architectural expertise to promote technical development, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks).
  • Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities, and individual learning.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Informatics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum Eight to Ten years of relevant years experience in working as a Solutions Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CIAM program
  • Strong technical and architectural understanding of IAM security frameworks, protocols (SAML, OAuth/OIDC, WS Fed, FIDO2), multifactor authentication (MFA), risk-based authentication etc.
  • Expert in CIAM solutions and technology (e.g. Okta CIC/CIS, Ping, etc.) i.e. well versed in product features, technology concepts. advanced capabilities and modern trends
  • Knowledge of architecture tools and artifacts such as Solution Design, design patterns, etc.
  • Knowledge of DevOps technologies and processes for deployment and testing automation.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good relationship skills, ability to establish and develop new relationships with different practices, collaboration & team skills. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Decision making regarding work priorities and deadlines must be appropriate to maintain an orderly schedule and completion of deadlines materials.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Tact, initiative, good judgment, and patience.
