We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Business Systems Specialist to drive automation, testing excellence, and AI enablement across our insurance systems. This role will play a critical part in modernizing workflows, improving system reliability, and accelerating delivery by implementing automated testing frameworks and embedding AI-driven capabilities into business processes.
The ideal candidate blends strong technical expertise with business knowledge in insurance systems and has a passion for leveraging emerging technologies.
What you will do
Automation & Testing

- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for insurance applications (like Illustrations, Simple Protect)
- Implement end-to-end, regression, integration, and performance test automation strategies
- Collaborate with QA, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases
AI Enablement & Workflow Optimization

- Identify opportunities to embed AI and generative AI into business workflows
- Partner with business teams to enhance processes using AI-driven insights, decisioning, and automation
- Support the responsible and scalable integration of AI into insurance systems and processes.
Systems Analysis & Support

- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to translate requirements into system solutions
- Analyze and optimize system workflows for scalability, efficiency, and accuracy
- Troubleshoot system issues and recommend improvements
Collaboration & Innovation

- Work cross-functionally with technology, product, digital teams, and vendors
- Stay current on insurance technology trends, automation frameworks, and AI innovations
- Contribute to digital transformation initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
What you will bring
-
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5+ years of experience in business systems, QA automation, or systems analysis
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar)
- Microsoft Office Product experience (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Copilot)
- Understanding of VBA and SQL (ie MS SQL, DB2 SQL, SS SQL)
- Familiarity with individual insurance systems (Illustrations, New Business, SimpleProtect, Ingenium)
- Understanding of APIs, data flows, and system integrations
- Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of Git + Code hosting platform (GitLab)
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JS
- Experience with AI/ML tools or platforms (e.g., Azure AI, OpenAI, or similar)
- Knowledge of scripting or programming (e.g., Java, Python, VBScript, JavaScript, shell / cmd)
- Experience with low-code/no-code automation platforms
- Willingness to learn and apply unfamiliar programming languages in niche scenarios (ie JCL SAS, VB6)
- Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value

The base salary for this position is between $59,800 - $99,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
