Bilingual (Fr/En) AML Specialist

Reporting to the Associate Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Performing diligent reviews of paperwork associated with new applications, transfers ownership, death claims, and other transactions related to Wealth products (non-registered seg-fund, annuity, and mutual fund polices/accounts) and Insurance products (Universal Life and My Par Gift policies) to ensure legislative and business requirements have been satisfied in compliance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, Regulations, and associated Guidance published by the regulator
- Working closely with Operations teams, Compliance, and Corporate Compliance as required
- Detailed and accurate tracking of the outcome of all reviews in the web-based AML Audit tool
- Coordinating efforts and collecting audit information to support the work of internal departments (e.g. Internal Audit, Corporate Compliance) as well as external regulators (e.g. FINTRAC)
- Engaging with advisors or our Operations teams within Wealth, In-Force, and New Business to obtain missing AML requirements
- Responding to central mailbox inquiries accurately and in a timely manner (advisor and Operations questions)
- Making recommendations on policy, procedure, and training based on audit results
- Analyzing trends and providing information that will be used in reports to senior management
Required Competencies and Behaviors:
- Bilingualism (fluent in French and English) required, as the position will regularly serve our clients with English and French-speaking need
- Attention to detail – must have high capability to identify deficiency indicators and material discrepancies within multiple sources of information
- Focus on quality results - delivering accurate reviews
- Productivity - ability to cope with a production environment and achieve the expected productivity results on a regular basis
- Problem solving, analytical skills, and critical thinking. Must be able to take a situation and apply logic, precedent, and critical thinking to reach a conclusion
- Ability to work well within a group, but also independently with little supervision
- Comfort working with Microsoft products (SharePoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Familiarity with AML legislation would be considered an asset
- Business knowledge – familiarity with Wealth and Insurance roles, end-to-end processes, and systems (OnBase, Aura, etc.). would be considered an asset
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: London, Montreal or Toronto. This role follows a hybrid work model, with an in-office presence required two days per week.

The base salary for this position is between $57,100 - $85,600 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
