The Canada Operations & Business Enablement team is looking for a Business Process Re-engineering, Associate Manager. Reporting to the Director Operational Excellence, The Associate Manager is responsible for rethinking and radically redesigning of business processes to achieve drastic improvements in performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.

The Associate Manager will collaborate closely with the business and modernization delivery leaders to support the CanadaLife Business Modernization journey.

 

In this role, we will be assessing our current business processes to identify areas for improvement and define the required changes needed to achieve our modernization goals. The Associate Manager will lend their expertise in the execution of process reengineering initiatives, ensuring the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions to secure substantial improvements in performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

 

What you will do

  • In-depth analysis of existing processes to identify areas require re-engineering
  • Thinking outside the box to devise entirely new ways of processing tasks
  • Identify required technological capabilities to support re-engineered processes
  • Gather quantitative and qualitative data through conducting focus groups, internal surveys, interviews, job shadows and time studies, etc. virtually and/or in-person
  • Analyze findings including large and complex data sets and reports
  • Recommend redesigned processes based on data insights
  • Drive design and execution of the process re-engineering projects
  • Significant contributor to business cases by quantifying and qualifying operational impacts
  • Build and maintain capacity models capable of assessing process change impacts
  • A pivotal contributor to shaping the future operational landscape of the business, in alignment with the Canada Life Modernization strategy
  • Key results will involve improving customer experience, enhancing quality, and boosting productivity to align with the goals of the Modernization Strategy.

  • Strong execution capabilities to ensure effective implementation of improvement and transformation opportunities in a dynamic environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail and precision in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects effectively
  • Transparent communication with all stakeholders regarding the changes and the underlying reasons for their necessity.

 

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in the industrial engineering, business administration, computer science, etc. or equivalent experience or qualifications
  • Professional certification(s) related to process design and improvement (Lean Six Sigma; Lean Analysis; Business Analysis)
  • 4+ years of experience leading and delivering operational process improvements or initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills with experience creating and leading presentations to senior leadership
  • Skilled at building strong, collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively, coach and support project teams
  • High proficiency (8/10) with Excel, PowerPoint; Visio or any other process mapping tools, Competent (5/10) with PowerBI; Tableau; SQL; Azure Databricks; Minitab; Familiarity with ARENA; SIMUL8 are the asset
  • Financial services/insurance business knowledge is an asset.

The base salary for this position is between  $63,500 - $117,400 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
