Account Executive, Group Retirement

Reporting to the Sales Director, the Account Executive, Group Retirement Services role focuses on developing strong relationships with distribution partners in your assigned region to attract new business and manage and retain an in-force (active) portfolio. It offers challenging and meaningful work in a fast-paced work environment, exciting opportunities with room to grow and develop, as well as a range of work day-to-day. Your motivation, creativity, and nimble decision-making skills along with internal and external partnerships will help you to meet and even exceed a variety of sales objectives. 

 

What You Will Do

  • Work together with Advisors to review quote specifications for potential clients, and write and present proposals to Advisors or potential clients

  • Perform all duties related to the management of accounts assigned

  • Resourceful to develop and maintain relationships with Advisors and be attentive to their needs, so that they are excited to do business with Canada Life

  • Respond to general and technical questions regarding plan operation and legislation from plan administrators, advisors and consultants pertaining to all types of group retirement products including; RRSP, DPSP, RPP, IPP and RRIF

 

What You Will Bring

  • Undergraduate diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of two years of experience in the field of group retirement services and/or financial industry and thorough knowledge of capital accumulation and defined benefit plans

  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written with an enthusiasm for doing presentations

  • Excellent mathematical skills

  • Ability to act quickly and put forward innovative solutions

  • Ability to work in a fast‑evolving environment and adapt to growth and change

  • Strong sales and interpersonal skills as well as motivation to achieve business objectives

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle, given the travel needs

  • Designation of RPA (Retirement Plans Associate), or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) is a significant asset

The base salary for this position is between $65,400 - $108,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
