Role Description
As a Senior Marketing Specialist, you’ll plan and deliver creative marketing campaigns and business communications. You have a talent for creating plans that reach audiences, using compelling messages that promote the product or service and reinforce Financial Horizons as a thought leader in the industry. You look for ways to foster collaboration and ensure tone, messaging and strategy are consistent across channels.
You’re known for your ability to take complicated concepts and turn them into engaging content that’s clear to our advisors. As an advocate for our advisors, your excellent marketing, communication and creative skills bring messages to life.
What you will do
Create copy that:
- Meets the Financial Horizons voice and personality
- Adheres to corporate and Canadian Press style guides
- Follows plain language principles
- Is clear, compelling, well-timed and appropriate for the audience
Lead and manage projects by:
- Managing the intake, prioritization, execution, and completion of requests submitted to Marketing and Communications
- Developing, socializing and executing a variety of strategic, creative, high-quality marketing plans
- Documenting all plans, tactics, approvals in shared Marketing and Communications tools and workspaces
- Setting and meeting timelines
- Providing consistent progress updates and any setbacks, as required
- Defining, monitoring and tracking marketing utilization, performance and analytics to optimize efforts and report to stakeholders
Build relationships and business acumen by:
- Collaborating with other teams including distribution, digital, creative, operations, legal, compliance, risk and advisor experience
- Identifying the right stakeholders at the right time
- Demonstrating marketing best practices and brand strategies
- Focusing on results and a culture of accountability
- Adapting to change that improves organizational performance
What you will bring
- 5+ years of marketing communications experience
- Understanding of the insurance and wealth industry, the MGA market, trends and competitive environment; aware of and anticipates key trends is an asset
- Strong demonstrated business and marketing writing skills
- Ability to translate technical details and industry jargon into plain language
- University degree or college diploma in Communications or Marketing
- Proven project management skills
- Collaborative, open and positive communication style
- Passionate, energetic and enthusiastic
- Detail oriented when it matters and flexible when you need to be
- Driven to get the job done, sometimes outside of traditional work hours
- Innovative and interested in trying new things
- Comfortable in a fast-paced team environment
- Good at finding a way forward, even without all the information
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following office locations: London, Kitchener

The base salary for this position is between $65,400 - $108,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
