The Analyst Data Reporting is responsible for developing, programming, and executing a variety of reports to support the effective operation of the Distribution Services team, comprising of Contracting and Compensation. This role will also represent the department on projects that involve reporting or feeds and provide training to staff members on reporting and database functions.
What you will do
- Translate business needs into data requirements: collect, integrate, clean, explore, model, and analyze large datasets, visualize results, and present to business leaders
- Work with large datasets that are not consistent, clean, or fully modelled
- Retrieve and transform data from multiple systems and data sources
- Work with key stakeholders to obtain, review and program Commission files for standard consumption
- Build and maintain tools for transactional team and debt teams with a focus on automation and efficiency
- Analyze and develop reporting systems for AGA or corporations from all carriers, with a focus on large producing advisors/corporations. Provide regular reporting to these groups.
- Present and communicate the insights and recommendations generated in a visual and simplified language
- Analyze and provide reporting for bonus changes, used for data integrity validation and updates
- Create, design, and run other reports and tools as required for business analysis.
- Maintain existing reporting and tools
- Acts independently to determine methods on new or special assignments, with some oversight to review approach and results. Decisions are guided by specific objectives
- Analysis is a core requirement of the position. Identifies difficult problems where facts may be incomplete. Solutions require the interpretation of information according to established methods.
- Finds solutions requiring analysis and interpretation of information according to established techniques or methods. Makes suggestions to modify team policies and procedures
- Work closely with leadership or SMEs in the department and other departments to understand business drivers and enable them to make decisions based on data
- Provide training to the teams on the databases and reporting functions
- Represent department on company and third party projects that involve Distribution Services reporting/feeds
- Liaise with carrier partners to develop the most efficient methods to obtain MGA reports
- Build strong working relationships with all stakeholders
What you will bring
- Completion of Post-Secondary School, or equivalent
- Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel and Power Query and/or other reporting programs\
- Experience visualizing data in Excel, Power Point
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in the insurance and financial services industry
- Bilingual (French) an asset
- Familiarity with SQL an asset
- Knowledge of WealthServ an asset
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong data manipulation skills
- Detail-oriented maintaining accuracy and consistency
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work in an ever-changing environment

The base salary for this position is between $48,400 - $72,600 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
