The Senior Project Manager leads large, complex, and high-risk strategic initiatives, partnering with business leaders, technology teams, and key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Accountable to the Project Sponsor, this role is responsible for achieving the business outcomes and value defined in the project charter by effectively managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and risk.
Leveraging advanced project management expertise, the Senior Project Manager drives the delivery of solutions to complex business challenges, influences senior stakeholders, and leads cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. The role also promotes project management excellence by advancing standards, methodologies, and best practices, while coaching and mentoring less experienced Project Managers.
What you will do:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, complex, and high-risk projects that support business and strategic objectives.
- Partner with business leaders, technology teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and external vendors to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success measures.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance, ensuring timely decision-making, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment.
- Monitor project performance and provide clear, concise reporting to Project Sponsors, senior leaders, and governance committees.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues that may impact project outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions to complex business challenges while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and influence outcomes through strong communication, relationship management, and collaboration.
- Champion project management standards, methodologies, tools, and best practices that support consistent project delivery excellence.
- Coach and mentor Project Managers and project team members, helping to build organizational project management capability and maturity.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 8-10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leading large-scale, complex, cross-functional, and high-risk initiatives.
- Proven success delivering strategic business and technology projects within scope, budget, and schedule while achieving targeted business outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of project management practices, methodologies, governance frameworks, and delivery approaches (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence, collaborate with, and gain alignment from senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity.
- Experience managing project risks, issues, budgets, resources, vendors, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and advancing project delivery excellence.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing project managers and team members.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent project management designation is preferred.
- Experience within financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries is considered an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $80,400 - $130,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
