Through retirement planning, savings advice and targeted engagement programs, we help Canadians make informed financial decisions and improve their long-term financial well-being.

 

Reporting to the AVP, Client Advisory Retirement & Savings, the Manager, Opportunity Development (Retirement & Savings) is responsible for expanding member access to advice, planning and engagement programs across Canada Life's Workplace Retirement Services business.

 

Acting as the bridge between Client Advisory Services and Group Retirement Services, the Manager works through WRS Business Development teams, Client Relationship Executives and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, remove barriers and influence access decisions that increase participation across key retirement and savings programs.

 

As the primary CAS Retirement & Savings representative to WRS, the Manager is accountable for developing access strategies, activating opportunities, measuring program penetration, and establishing the performance framework that supports future growth.

 

What you will do  

 

  • Develop and execute strategies that increase member access across key Savings & Retirement programs, including Welcome, In-Plan Advice, Rollover and Retirement Planning initiatives.
  • Own the identification, prioritisation and activation of opportunities that expand member access and increase program participation across Canada Life's Workplace Retirement Services business.
  • Influence access decisions by partnering closely with WRS Business Development teams and Client Relationship Executives, helping them identify opportunities within their sponsor portfolios that align with Retirement & Savings objectives.
  • Develop deep expertise in Canada Life's sponsor base, advisor relationships and retirement & savings program offerings to identify barriers, unlock opportunities and support business growth.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for CAS Retirement & Savings for WRS business development.
  • Support sponsor and advisor meetings, finalist presentations and RFP processes as a subject matter expert when required.
  • Establish and manage reporting frameworks that provide transparent visibility into member access, program penetration, engagement activity and business outcomes at national, sponsor, CRE and Business Development team levels.
  • Partner closely with the Director, Savings & Retirement Client Growth & Engagement to ensure increased member access translates into stronger engagement, advice and sales outcomes.
  • Partner with the Director, Business Development (Insurance & Benefits) to establish a coordinated strategy for sponsors with both Group Benefits and Workplace Retirement relationships, ensuring opportunities are prioritised appropriately, stakeholder engagement is aligned
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the AVP, providing insights, recommendations and growth strategies that support the expansion of the Retirement & Savings funnel.

 

What you will bring 

 

  • 7+ years of experience driving business growth relationship management, opportunity generation or business development
  • Strong understanding of workplace insurance, wealth or financial services businesses
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes in a matrix environment
  • Experience working with sponsors, client-facing teams or distribution channels
  • Strong execution skills, with the ability to move initiatives from concept to implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to identify barriers, develop practical solutions, and mobilize others
  • Strong relationship management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism is an asset (fluent in French and English) but is required for Quebec only as the position will regularly serve our clients with French and English-speaking needs

The base salary for this position is between $95,700 - $145,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
