Role Description:

The Compensation Consultant plays a key role in delivering robust compensation programs and analysis. Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for conducting research and analysis, as well as supporting the development of recommendations for various compensation programs and initiatives. This unique opportunity blends both analytical support with broad compensation programs support. Success will be derived from your robust analytical aptitude, strong written and oral communication skills, and keen eye for detail.

This temporary opportunity is expected to commence in September 2024 and is available nationally. It has the opportunity to be remote if hired outside of regions where there is a Canada Life office (Toronto, Winnipeg, Montreal, London). If hired in these regions, this is a hybrid opportunity.

 

What you will do:

  • Perform modeling, simulation and analysis for new and existing compensation programs and strategies, including cost analysis and projections. 
  • Draft presentations, policies, and programs related to compensation program design, and support the operationalization of these programs.
  • Ensure employee and leader facing compensation program resource materials are up to date; make suggestions for improvements to improve the usefulness of this content.
  • Lead or support compensation related projects as well as research trend topics, as required.
  • Compile, organize and analyze compensation market data.
  • Support the completion of market surveys as needed. 
  • Work closely with colleagues within Compensation as well as within the broader HR division.
  • Participate in other initiatives as required, and in support of, the HR strategies and priorities. 

 

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an analytical role within Compensation or HR.
  • Post secondary degree / diploma in a related field. Formal education specific to Compensation is an asset (e.g. CCP courses).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including a demonstrated ability to understand, organize, and make sense of large data sets while ensuring high attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Excel required. Must have working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-organize and prioritize deliverables.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior experience as a Compensation Partner supporting a client group is an asset.

The base salary for this position is between  $51,400 - $95,200 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
